Adriana Fernández was born in Buenos Aires. She joined the Children’s Choir of the Colón Theatre as a soloist conducted by Peter Maag. She performed “Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Mendelssohn, “Vesperae Solennes de Confessore” by Mozart and played the part of the Child in “L’Enfant et les Sortilèges” by Ravel.

After graduating at the National Academy of Music in Buenos Aires, she studies with Ernest Haefliger, Philippe Huttenlocher, Aldo Baldin, Heather Harper and Helmuth Rilling during the Bach Academy in Buenos Aires.
In order to complete her musical education she decided to study with Eric Tappy and achieved her studies with the First Virtuosity Price at the Academy of Music of Geneva.
She attends the first Verbier Academy in 1994 and is able to deepen her knowledge in the melody, the lied and the opera repertoire.

Adriana Fernández is frequently invited to perform the greatest parts of the repertoire as an oratorio soloist : “Didon and Aeneas” by Purcell, “Matthäus-Passion”, “Johannes-Passion”, “Magnificat”, “Mass in B minor”, “Kommt, Eilet und Laufet”, “Weihnachtsoratorium”, “Cantata for soprano solo” by J.S. Bach, “Messiah”, “Dixit Dominus”, “Israel in Egypt”, “Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” by Haendel, “ Missa « In angustiis »” by Haydn, “Mass in C”, “Mass KV 317”, “Requiem” by Mozart, “Psalm 42” by Mendelssohn, “Stabat Mater” by Dvorák , “Stabat Mater”, “Sept Réponds des Ténèbres ” by Poulenc
The Grand Theater of Geneva has also invited her to the productions of “Louise” by Charpentier, “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “Idomeneo” by Mozart, “La Damnation de Faust” by Berlioz, “Der Rosenkavalier” by Strauss, “Purpura de la Rosa” by Tomás de Torrejón y Velazco a co-production with the Zarzuela Theater of Madrid.

Adriana Fernández has sung with The Suisse Romande Orchestra, The Geneva Chamber Orchestra, The Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, The Verbier Festival Orchestra, The Israel Chamber Orchestra, The Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, The National Symphonic Orchestra (Buenos Aires), The Stable Orchestra of the Colón Theatre and in concerts halls such as The Palau de la Musica and the Auditori in Barcelona, The Suntory Hall in Tokyo. The Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna, The Victoria Hall in Geneva, The Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
She has been conducted by Maag, John Nelson, Armin Jordan, Kurt Masur and Michel Corboz

Since 1990, Adriana Fernández has specialised in baroque music and has joined Gabriel Garrido’s ensemble: Elyma. She performs and records European baroque music but also South American baroque music, Renaissance music and Italian madrigals.
She has recorded in “Les chemins du Baroque” : « Vesperae de Saint Jean Baptiste » by Ceruti, « Le Phénix du Mexique », « La Púrpura de la Rosa » by Torrejón y Velazco, « La Daphne » by Gagliano, « L’Orfeo », « Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria », »L’Incoronazione di Poppea » , « Vespro de la Beata Vergine » by Monteverdi. Recording which have received excellent reviews and prizes such as Diapason d’Or, 10 du Répertoire, Choc de la Musique, Academia Cini Prize ,Grand Prix du Disque, Timbre de Platine attributed by Opéra International Magazine

Adriana Fernández frequently works with music ensembles such as Hesperion XXI, Le Concert des Nations, y la Capella Reial de Catalunya,(Jordi Savall) as well as : Le Parlement de Musique (Martin Gester) Ensemble 415 (Chiara Banchini) , Les Sacqueboutiers (Jean-Pierre Canihac) , L’Arpeggiata (Christina Pluhar), Al Ayre español (Eduardo López Banzo), The Rare Fruits Council (Manfredo Kraemer).

She has performed many times during festivals in Ambronay, Chaise-Dieu, Noirlac, Saint-Donat, Combrailles (Bach festival), Saint Malo (religious music festival), Vieux Lyon, Paris (religious music festival), Beaune, Vienne (Resonanzen), Utrecht, Erice (Sicile), Lisbonne (Festival de la Fundaçao Gulbenkian), Mexico (Festival Cervantino and Festival del Centro Histórico), Musicales Buenos Aires (Festivales).
Adriana Fernández has also been invited to teach voice during the Cursos Internacionales Manuel de Falla in Granada Spain in July 2003, during the Académie in Ambronay in July 2003 and at the Early Music Courses of Barbaste in February 2004.
Adriana Fernández has recorded with Symphonia, K617, Alia-Vox, Pavane Records and Zig-zag territoires.
